When the shit hits the fan, what do you do?
What do you do? Do you hide your head in the sand and pretend it isn’t happening? Do you look the other way? I used to do this when I didn’t want to face up to a situation in my life. I did it so much that my friend actually sent me a book about an ostrich who kept hiding away when danger approached. Thinking that the approaching lions wouldn’t see this big black tail sticking in the air.
For a long, long time I would try to avoid conflict by looking the other way. Unable to have an honest conversation with anyone about how I felt and my beliefs in life. It was too much hassle and too much like hard work. It was better to be quiet and shut up.
Until one day I had had enough of being quiet. I stood up for myself and said no. It felt powerful. It felt awesome. I realised then that the power was within me to be me. The more I learned to stand up for myself, to speak my truth and face confrontations head on instead of hiding away, the more my confidence grew.
We find ourselves at the beginning of 2021 in a space where there is much going on in the political and external arena that at times, we may feel we want to switch the news off and pretend that none of this is going on. Unfortunately, it is and like when we ignore a small twinge in our back, it can get worse until it reaches a point where you finally admit you need to see a chiropractor or an osteopath. There are some things you can do to help you when you find the proverbial shit hitting the fan.
- Accepting the situation is the first step towards dealing with it.
- Acknowledge what is happening.
- Assess the situation and what tools you currently have to deal with it.
It is so easy to hide and pretend nothing is going on around you. Like I said, I have been there and done it. Whilst it may be easy, you aren’t being true to yourself or authentic.
The number 1 thing I have found in the majority of my clients over the last three years is blocked throat chakras. Why is this important? The throat chakra is where we express our needs and wants from. It is associated with communication. When this chakra is blocked, it hinders us from speaking our truth. Generally, in past lives people have been persecuted for standing up and speaking their truth and this can still stay with us, even now. As we begin to heal and balance this chakra as well as aligning the rest of your energies the easier it becomes to take your head out of the sand and deal with life head on. When I first became interested in Reiki and would visit Mind Body and Soul fairs they would all tell me the same thing, my throat chakra was blocked. I didn’t get it or understand why, now I do.
Standing up and sharing with the world your thoughts and views through a blog, a YouTube channel, a podcast, an interview feels scary at first. I remember when I first announced to the world, through my book Awaken Your Soul https://www.lindsaybanks.uk/product/awaken-your-soul-book/, that I was channelling the Pleidians, thinking ah my days I can’t believe I am sharing this. Knowing underneath I was meant to. Sharing my ‘knowings’ via YouTube again felt scary but I knew I had to do it. I was doing a Facebook live and literally broke down crying as I knew I needed some time out and some space. Did it feel uncomfortable? Hell yes, but the number of messages I received afterwards offering me words of comfort and support, and congratulating me on being real, was incredible!
We can’t always be positive, but that is another blog in itself, however what we can be is true. True to ourselves and true to others.
Never has there been a more important time in our history of the world for us to speak our truth. To stand up for what we know and what we believe to be true.
Are you ready to stop being an ostrich? To speak your truth and communicate your needs and wants, then book a 15 minute consultation with me and let’s get rid of the ostrich mentality https://www.lindsaybanks.uk/make-a-booking/
